YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Cost Reimbursable Accountant is responsible for coordinating a consistent company approach to billing and billing substantiation on large (>$5MM) cost reimbursable projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Review pre-bid and post-award project billing requirements, identifying target margins, developing project processes within company guidelines and coordinating responses to information requests, audits and billing disputes.
Coordinate with estimating and operations teams regarding the pre-bid specification review for applicable definitions of cost.
Review contractual cost of work definitions for margin impacts and unfavorable/vague clauses.
Discuss with team how to address these, prior to the award of project. Meet with customer and/or owner billing personnel initially and as needed to clarify requirements and develop relationships.
Outline project billing procedures including: billing cutoff calendar and task deadlines, process to capture transaction data for billing, process to efficiently compile backup for transactions, process to make transaction data easily retrievable for audits or internal reviews.
Identify internal and external resources to carry out billing cycle tasks, train resources as needed. Engage subcontractors as required so that they understand their contractual obligations and project billing requirements. Evaluate the need to audit our subs for compliance.
Complete subcontract audits as necessary. Create billing data capture process using Oracle EBS cost data and MS Access or Excel. Coordinate process to compile backup (i.e., timecards, AP invoices, expense reports) efficiently.
Work with Operations personnel to develop schedule of values as well as providing them a definition of cost and any unique requirements needed to satisfy owner/ general contractor.
Prepare project margin analysis for initial cost at completion projections. Coordinate audit requests with finance, project team and auditor.
Prepare responses to unfavorable audit determinations; advocate for increased allowable cost with eye toward profitability

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
5 years of Finance or Accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite or other Enterprise level Finance package preferred
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

$76,300.00-$100,100.00 AnnualThe pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
