The Subcontracts Team Lead will manage a work team responsible for the review, issuance, and management of agreements for multiple projects in various areas, including subcontracts and change orders, monitoring the status of subcontracts. This position is a 'working manager' role that will execute contractual obligations while providing oversight, support, and mentorship to the work team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Monitor, evaluate, and mentor work team on meeting or exceeding performance goals and expectations.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Project Management, or related field.
Seven (7) or more years of subcontract management or contract administrator experience in the construction industry, preferably in electrical contracting.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Subcontracts Team Lead will manage a work team responsible for the review, issuance, and management of agreements for multiple projects in various areas, including subcontracts and change orders, monitoring the status of subcontracts. This position is a 'working manager' role that will execute contractual obligations while providing oversight, support, and mentorship to the work team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Monitor, evaluate, and mentor work team on meeting or exceeding performance goals and expectations.
Ensure team is complying with company policies and procedures and is in strict adherence to department documentation requirements.
Oversee and manage work team on subcontract issuance, including advising on and reviewing subcontract details and documentation as requested and required.
Effectively manage work team and projects in assigned regions and/or entities by clarifying project details and documentation where required for completeness and accuracy in the issuance of agreements and to ensure compliance with company policies and processes.
Provide coaching and mentoring to staff personnel as required and provide performance evaluation input to Direct Manager.
Support Operations and other departments by contacting subcontractors, designers, and service providers for requisite documentation as applicable for the project and agreement issuance

Coordinate and collaborate with Operations and upper management and other departments on the clarification of commercial terms and conditions, which may also include contract modifications
Establish and maintain a knowledge base of multiple projects, along with working relationships with project teams, in different regions to anticipate and facilitate subsequent and future subcontract agreement issuances
Coordinate and confirm with the prequalification department on the qualification and evaluation process and approval of subcontractors, designers, and service providers
Conduct department presentations and training for Operations teams within the assigned areas and entities on subcontracts department processes and procedures
Collaborate with and advise Operations and other departments from different areas or regions on subcontractor, designer, and service provider particulars and performance based on department's company-wide knowledge base of projects.
Work with managers in establishing and maintaining effective subcontractor partnerships to achieve active cooperation, team alignment, and stimulate the desire to award future work with subcontractors, designers, and service providers.
Summarize and evaluate subcontract and project data and trends to report to Direct Manager and Director of Subcontracts

Communicate and train the work team on the department workflow, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence and compliance
Conduct and summarize agreement audits to ensure that department processes and company policies and procedures are followed in agreement issuances
Assist with the development and review of all department analytics, reporting and deliverables
Assist with the development and implementation of department instructions, policies, and procedures
Oversee the work team on the timely response to agreement requests and agreement issuance
Provide application and workflow suggestions for maximum effectiveness and efficiency where applicable

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Project Management, or related field.
Seven (7) or more years of subcontract management or contract administrator experience in the construction industry, preferably in electrical contracting.
Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials
Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies and accounting
Ability to delegate work effectively and balance the dual role of overseeing people and projects while performing in a working manager role
Effective oral and written communication skills
Must exhibit strong supervisory skills and demonstrate the ability to mentor work team
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player and to work independently with minimum supervision
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle, Bluebeam, or Adobe
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to adapt to and support ongoing process improvement initiatives
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, subcontractors, clients, and others

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Pay Range
$112,600.00-$147,800.00 AnnualThe pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
