Your Next Opportunity
The VDC Field Supervisor oversees survey projects from start to finish, leading teams to ensure quality and timely completion within budget. Key responsibilities include technical oversight, client communication, project scheduling, staff management and training, and quality control.
Key responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Ensure all staff follow safety protocols and training, including Job Hazard Analysis, Daily Pre-task Plans, and any project specific safety requirements that are deemed necessary.
- Build collaborative and relationships with project stakeholders and partners
- Manage project scopes, timelines, and resources to ensure completion on time and within specifications
- Represent team in division or leadership forums
- Review BIM plans, perform plan analysis, and ensure technical accuracy, project safety compliance and quality standards.
- Oversee scheduling, task assignments, and resource allocation for Field Techs across multiple projects.
- Act as a liaison between field teams and the BIM teams, understanding needs, and presenting findings. Monitor team performance, address inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee daily operations, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct technical reviews to ensure all work meets standards.
- Conduct regular check ins, performance reviews, and career development for field staff
- Document lessons learned, workflow updates, and technology adoption to strengthen team capabilities.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately to ensure engagement and professional growth.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience leading and managing technical teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to assess and support operational needs
- Deep understanding of preconstruction processes and 3D BIM software platforms
- Advanced computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
- Preferred experience with Oracle, Power BI, macros, Power Query, and data visualization
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients
