YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of procurement strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with Rosendin objectives for cost, quality, and schedule. The position focuses on executing "best cost" tactics and improving efficiencies throughout the procurement lifecycle - from estimation to contract close-out- to drive measurable savings across the company.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Strategy Execution: Assist in the development of category strategy to achieve financial value-add and improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Data Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of the category portfolios, including spend data and supplier performance, to identify opportunities for consolidation and cost reduction. Track supplier rebate status and agreement expiration dates. Submit spend data to manufacturers to qualify for rebates and incentives.
  • Supplier Coordination: Support the management of supplier relationships and assist in negotiating terms that align with project timelines and budgetary goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and help implement process efficiencies within the procurement workflow to streamline operations from end to end.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with estimating and project teams to ensure category strategies meet specific geographical and operational requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • 3-5 years of experience in category management, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. Experience within the construction or electrical industry is a major plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze spend data, interpret market trends, and use Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) to drive decision-making.

  • Proven ability to support or lead tactical negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and terms.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal project teams and external vendors.

  • Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy in managing contracts and procurement documentation from estimate through close-out. Expertise in procurement, estimating, business, strong collaborative skills and leadership potential.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific software).

  • Certification from ISM (CPSM) or APICS (CSCP) is an advantage but not required.

  • Understanding of "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) principles.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 10%


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
