YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

  • The Lead L&D Trainer monitors the effectiveness of training on employees using individual or group performance results and typically reports to a manager. This is a senior level employee development role that has an advanced understanding and can anticipate business needs. Delivers company training programs and workshops to employees and managers. Training programs may typically include topics such as supervisory/management training, work skills training, team building, and communications. TLL&DT is respected across the organization as a business partner to the individual business units.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Consults for the creation of new training programs and existing program enhancements.

  • Makes recommendations for process improvements within the L&D group.

  • Has broad understanding of the industry and its challenges.

  • Increased exposure to senior leadership.

  • Oversees the development and creation of multiple lesson plans and training aids.

  • Is the trusted and recognized subject matter expert for the L&D team and is a trusted partner to multiple business areas.

  • Works on multiple projects and/or matters of advanced complexity.

  • Understands the functions of L&D Department and business as a whole.

  • Works with significant autonomy and is a frequent resource to the business.

  • Mentors Senior L&D Trainers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • As a Lead L&D Trainer, proven work experience in a training or similar role is required.

  • Advanced understanding of electrical construction and contracting.

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Acts as a resource for conflict resolution within the workplace.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to analyze business and training needs for improvement.

  • Uses analytics and feedback to customize solutions for complex business challenges.

  • Ability to facilitate in a variety of environments and to large, diverse audiences.

  • Able to quickly respond to audience needs while facilitating.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to prioritize L&D training requests and evaluate the effectiveness or practicality of those requests.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Generally requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience

  • Requires 7+ years of related experience.

  • Union experience helpful.

  • Instructional Design certification required.

  • Experience delivering & developing leadership and professional development learning.

  • Understanding of performance management, coaching and feedback techniques.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
