YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

Join our team as a Project Executive - Utility Scale Renewables where you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome for several small to medium projects or one very large project. You will lead and manage a team of project managers, and assistant project managers to deliver exceptional results for our clients. The position proactively develops new business opportunities and relationships with current and potential customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As Project Executive - Utility Scale Renewables, you will be the senior-most leader responsible for the successful execution of utility-scale renewable energy construction projects. Your leadership will drive safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and overall team performance from Notice to Proceed through Final Closeout.

This is a boots-on-the-ground role, requiring a hands-on leader who excels in building strong relationships between contractors, owners, and project teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead projects from mobilization to completion, ensuring smooth operations across all work scopes (civil, mechanical, electrical, SCADA, and commissioning).

  • Maintain ownership of project risks, scheduling, labor resources, and team performance.

  • Tactically manage change orders and financial exposure while identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Schedule & Performance Management

  • Enforce contract schedules, leading weekly schedule meetings with self-perform teams & subcontractors.

  • Drive milestone achievements, proactively monitor float, and implement recovery plans when necessary.

  • Maintain clear alignment between procurement timelines, labor resources, and construction sequencing.

Site Presence & Leadership

  • Be physically present on-site at least five days per week, leading by example.

  • Actively engage in morning huddles, site walks, and stand-downs with foremen and supers.

  • Cultivate a strong safety culture, participate in audits, corrective actions, and quality inspections.

Supply Chain & Material Management

  • Own the material submittal log, ensuring approvals and deliveries align with the project schedule.

  • Resolve supply chain delays, drive approval of material alternatives, and coordinate with logistics teams.

  • Team & Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Maintain clear, timely communication with engineering teams, ensuring fast resolution of design issues.

Lead weekly tracking reviews for

  • Mechanical Completion

  • Safety & QA/QC Metrics

  • Schedule Progress

  • Subcontractor Coordination

Culture & Performance Development

  • Foster a high-accountability, high-trust culture across all teams.

  • Coach and mentor PMs & Supervisors, promoting ownership and collaboration.

  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned and proactive problem-solving.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or related discipline.

  • Typically requires 15 years of related work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of building systems electrical engineering, manufacturing or technology is required

  • Advanced management skills are required, including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development and advancement planning.

  • Advanced knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning

  • The ability to analyze and resolve technically complex engineering problems

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 50%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent or LED lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
