Your Next Opportunity

The Estimating Quote Support Specialist is responsible for providing estimating and quotation support for electrical construction projects. This role assists in the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates, and RFQ (Request for Quote) processes while supporting estimating teams in the development of accurate and timely project bids. The position works under general supervision and follows established procedures to coordinate vendor and subcontractor communications, perform quantity takeoffs, evaluate quotations, and maintain estimating documentation. The Estimating Quote Support Specialist contributes to the successful completion of bid and procurement activities while developing foundational estimating skills and knowledge of electrical construction projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Prepare and distribute RFQ packages to vendors and subcontractors.

  • Track RFQ statuses, maintain bid logs, send reminders, and ensure timely response from vendors and subcontractors.

  • Coordinate communication regarding addendums, clarifications, scope questions, and missing information.

  • Organize incoming vendor and subcontractor quotes, perform initial completeness reviews, and prepare documentation for estimator or management review.

  • Maintain vendor contact information, estimating databases, digital filing systems, templates, and supporting documentation.

  • Receive instruction from senior-level estimators to review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and project requirements.

  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and support estimate development using established estimating procedures and systems.

  • Enter estimating information into computerized estimating systems and review estimate outputs for completeness and accuracy.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Advanced knowledge of the assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques, and cost control

  • Interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems

  • Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating

  • Read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents

  • Identify and meet customers' needs expectations and requirements

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Self-motivated and can work independently and as part of a team

  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

  • 0-2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction

  • Basic experience/exposure in Accubid estimating

  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

$70,400.00-$92,000.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
