YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Commercial Driver (CDL Class A) is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient operation of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from project sites. This position is responsible for maintaining full compliance with all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), OSHA, state, and local regulations while representing the company in a professional manner. The Commercial Driver is expected to operate safely, perform required inspections, secure all loads properly, maintain accurate records, and protect company personnel, equipment, and the public.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety by complying with all company safety policies, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws

  • Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from project sites

  • Conduct required pre-trip, enroute, post-trip, and periodic vehicle inspections in accordance with FMCSA and company requirements

  • Accurately complete and maintain all DOT-required documentation, including Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), electronic logging device (ELD) records, hours-of-service (HOS) compliance, and other required documentation

  • Perform or coordinate routine vehicle maintenance and promptly report mechanical defects, safety concerns, or needed repairs

  • Verify that all loads are properly secured, distributed, and transported in compliance with DOT cargo securement regulations

  • Outbound functions include selecting checking, packing, and shipping orders

  • Inbound functions include receiving, placement and put away of product

  • Must be familiar with the job location and surrounding areas

  • Maintain a clean driving record

  • Physical ability to meet DOT health requirements

  • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a valid CDL class A license

  • Must have 3 years of verifiable experience as a CDL driver

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)

  • Air Brake Endorsement

  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Must have thorough knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance, and transportation of material

  • Must successfully complete DOT required drug and alcohol testing requriements

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Proficient in using a mobile device

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Frequently enters and exits Commercial Motor Vehicles and Trailers

  • Frequently working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind and on uneven terrain

  • Frequently working on construction sites with exposure to moving equipment, dust, noise and other hazards

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, with occasional lifting of heavier materials with assistance or mechanical equipment
